Initially began with some friends around 2013, I’ve kept this website going. I’m Zachary G. Pirtle, and have published other work on Neal Stephenson’s Anathem, Malka Older’s Infomocracy (with Malka as a coauthor!), and Dune’s approach toward the ethics of technology. My work on this site helped infuse the ideas in those papers, along with my scifipolicy essay on Rogue One: An Engineering Ethics Case Study. You can reach me at philengineering2018@gmail.com.

Our original web blurb is below.

We aren't Officials of the army ballistic missile agency

Scifi Policy (our shorthand for the clunkier "Science Fiction Policy Project") is the work of a group of nerds, wonks, and friends, all based in the Washington, DC, area. We're a small, volunteer team, but we think that big things can come from the intersection of policy and visions of what tomorrow may bring.
